Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answer

This page answers the questions we hear most about working with Hygiene: how to book and get a quote, what happens on the day, where waste goes, what records you receive and how payments and contracts work. Questions about a specific service are answered on that service's own page.

Booking and quotes

How fast can you reply to a quote request?

During office hours, Saturday to Thursday 7:30 to 18:30, most WhatsApp enquiries receive a reply within minutes and a fixed quote the same working session. A photo and a location pin are what make a fast reply possible. Without them we usually need two or three questions first. Urgent problems outside office hours go to the emergency line on +971 56 864 8994, which is answered 24/7.

Do you charge for a site assessment?

For most jobs a site visit is not needed, because a photo of the tank cover, trap or pit tells our technicians what they need to price the work. Where a larger commercial site does need an assessment, we offer it free and without obligation. The quote you receive is fixed, and it only changes if you approve additional work on the day.

Can I book a recurring service instead of one visit at a time?

Yes, and most commercial clients do. A maintenance contract puts your tanks, traps or pits on a fixed calendar, usually monthly for grease traps, quarterly for sump pits and every six months for water tanks. You get one fixed price per visit, reminders before each date, and the same crew where possible, so the people judging your system know its history.

What information should I have ready when I call?

The property type, your area in Dubai, what you are seeing, and roughly when the system was last serviced. For a tank, the approximate size or the last volume removed helps us choose the right tanker. For commercial sites, tell us any access limits such as loading bay hours or basement height so the right vehicle and hose length are sent first time.

On the day of service

Do I need to be at the property during the work?

Someone needs to give access to the tank cover, trap or pit and confirm where the tanker can park. After that, many villa and building clients leave the crew to work and receive the completion report by WhatsApp. For restaurants and occupied buildings we agree a point of contact on site, usually the kitchen manager or building engineer.

Will the work cause a smell or mess at my property?

Waste is drawn straight into a sealed vacuum tanker, so there is no open transfer and very little odor during extraction. Crews lay protective matting across floors, paving and lawns along the hose route, and wash down the work area before leaving. A short odor may be noticed when a tank or pit cover is first lifted, and it clears once the cover is closed.

How do your crews stay safe in tanks and pits?

Every tank, pit and interceptor is treated as a confined space. The opening is gas tested before work starts, forced ventilation and a harness with tripod are used whenever entry is needed, pumps are electrically isolated before sump work, and every crew member wears full protective equipment. Nobody enters a tank alone, and nobody leans into an untested opening.

Can you work at night or on Fridays?

Scheduled work runs Saturday to Thursday, 7:30 to 18:30, and restaurant jobs are routinely booked before opening or after close within that week. Genuine emergencies, such as an overflowing tank or a basement taking water, are handled through the 24/7 emergency line on +971 56 864 8994, where the situation is assessed on the call.

Waste, records and compliance

Where does the collected waste go?

Septic waste, grease trap contents, sump sludge and tank washings travel sealed in our vacuum tankers to approved Dubai treatment and disposal facilities. Nothing is discharged into drains, gullies, open land or the sea. The disposal is recorded against your job and included in the completion report, so the chain from your property to the facility is documented.

What documents can you provide for my compliance file?

For every visit you receive a dated completion report and the disposal record. For water tanks we add photos and notes per tank, for sump pits a pump test result per pump, and for grease traps a dated service record suitable for food safety inspections. Our trade license and insurance details are provided to facility managers during vendor onboarding.

Do you provide services outside Dubai?

Our crews, routes and response times are built around Dubai, and that is where we focus. If your property is just outside the city, send the location and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve it reliably. We would rather decline a job than promise a response time we cannot keep.

Payments and contracts

How do I pay for a job?

Accepted payment methods and terms are confirmed with your written quote before any work starts, so there are no surprises on the day. Commercial and contract clients are invoiced against each completed visit, with the completion report attached. If you need a quote or invoice issued to a specific company name or building management account, tell us when you book.

Is there a minimum contract length for maintenance plans?

Maintenance plans are agreed per property, based on how many tanks, traps or pits you have and how often each needs service. We set the frequency from what we measure on the first visit rather than from a standard package, and the terms are written into the agreement before the first scheduled date. Ask for a plan proposal and we will price it from your actual systems.
